Who are we?
Solarif Insurance (Solarif) is an independent insurance broker specializing in insurance for solar power installations and companies active in the solar energy sector. More information can be found at www.solarif.com. Solarif Insurance operates completely independently and has no business ties with other companies or institutions.

Products
Solarif Insurance offers insurance for companies active in the solar or renewable energy sectors, and for owners of solar power or renewable energy installations during both the construction and the operational phase. Our services include construction all risk insurance, operational all risk insurance, liability insurance, revenue insurance, and extended warranty insurance. Other business insurance can also be arranged, except income, pension and investment insurance. There are no obligations to specific insurers, but we work with preferred insurers.

Our compensation

  • Our services are compensated through a portion of the insurance premium (commission).
  • Some insurers also pay for additional services such as policy issuance, premium collection, and claims handling.
  • Costs for external expertise are only charged if agreed upon in advance.
  • Upon your request, we can conduct an analysis of your insurance portfolio, for which we may charge a fee, only after consultation and your approval.

Authority Financial Markets (AFM)
The AFM supervises all financial service providers in the Netherlands on behalf of the legislator. Solarif Insurance is supervised by the AFM (Authority Financial Markets) and is registered under number 12018917. We comply with all requirements set by the Financial Supervision Act (Wft).

Financial Services Complaints Tribunal (KIFID)
Solarif is registered under number 300.013546 with the Financial Services Complaints Tribunal (Stichting Klachteninstituut Financiële Dienstverlening (KiFiD)).

Information provision
To ensure that your insurance portfolio meets your requirements and wishes, we ask you to:

  • Provide all relevant information, facts, and circumstances that may be important for the relevant risk before taking out insurance. This ‘duty of disclosure’ also applies during the term of the insurance. Failure to comply may affect your right to compensation.
  • Immediately inform us of changes relevant to the risks within your projects, such as changes in corporate structure, address changes, relocations, opening of new (foreign) branches, sale of shares, significantly increased value of stored goods, project delays, or late completion.
  • Verify the information sent by us for accuracy and completeness and inform us immediately of any inaccuracies.
  • Respond within 5 working days to emails, phone calls, and mail, within reasonable limits.
  • Cooperate in optimizing a risk inventory of your company and projects to best represent your interests.

Payment of premiums and other costs
Unless direct debit has been agreed upon, you must pay premiums and costs within the period specified on the invoice. Solarif Insurance ensures local payment of insurance tax, any local government levies, and payments to insurers.

Documents / Agreements
Check received documents for accuracy and completeness and inform us of any inaccuracies. Keep all insurance agreements with attachments carefully. Note that not every insurance policy is issued annually.

Claims
Solarif handles your claims. Therefore, we ask you to:

  • Report the damage and cause within 2 working days.
  • Return the completed claim form within 2 working days.
  • Provide us with all necessary documents such as the installer’s damage report (including cost estimate), invoices, service contract, photos, and police report in case of theft.
  • Immediately report delays, setbacks, or miscommunications during the claims process.
  • Notify us no later than 1 week after the damage has been repaired.

Termination of relationship
The relationship can be terminated, and the insurance policies can be transferred to another advisor. Solarif Insurance can also terminate the relationship but remains responsible until another advisor takes over.

Privacy policy

Information Use
All requested information is necessary to serve you optimally. The information you provide will be used solely for risk inventory, risk assessment, premium determination, and conditions. We only share information with insurers and other service providers if necessary.

Confidentiality
All information you provide will be treated strictly confidentially and shared with third parties only with your approval.

Use of your information
To serve you as well as possible, we need information about your solar project or company, such as your financial situation, your wishes, and needs. This data helps us to provide appropriate insurance advice and to determine your willingness to bear or cover risks.

Processing your data
We handle the received data carefully and have taken measures to prevent unauthorized access. All our employees have signed a confidentiality agreement. We use your data exclusively for the services and only share it with third parties when necessary.

Retention period
We do not retain your data longer than necessary for our operations. We will delete your personal data no later than five years after the termination of the insurance policies we arranged.

Your rights

  • You can always request a free overview of the personal data we have about you.
  • You can request corrections if there are inaccuracies.
  • You can ask us to delete certain data.
  • You can ask us to restrict the use of your data or to transfer your data to third parties.
  • When we receive information about you from third parties, we will inform you of the source.

Consequences of limited information provision
For proper insurance advice, we need all the required information. If we do not receive all the information, our advice may be incomplete. With too much missing information, we cannot provide responsible advice.

Complaints about our handling of your personal data

Finally
Solarif Insurance is exempt from VAT. For insurances, there is insurance tax instead of VAT. The insurance tax rate varies by country in terms of rate and applicability.
